Ariy Israelevich Rakov was born in Kuibyshev, Kuibyshev region of the RSFSR.

Pre-war biography: cadet of the Novosibirsk Institute of Military Engineers of Railway Transport.

Place of conscription: Central RVC, Voronezh region, Voronezh, Central district.

Service start date: 03.08.1940

End date of the service: 11.10.1945

He participated in the Great Patriotic War: - in the battles for the Dnieper; - in the Vistula-Oder operation. Awards: Order of the Red Star Order of the Patriotic War II degree Order of the Patriotic War I degree Medal "For the Capture of Berlin" Medal "For the Liberation of Prague" Medal "For the victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945"

The head of the radio station, Sergeant Rakov, has been in offensive battles since 13.07.44. On 19.07.44, when breaking through a heavily fortified enemy strip, chasing him and crossing the BUG River, the 981 infantry regiment provided radio communications. He began training as a radio operator 10 days before the offensive battles. Thanks to his exceptionally conscientious attitude to combat training, he reached the position of head of the radio station in this short period of time. In battles, he proved himself to be a brave, proactive and resourceful commander. Radio communication with the 981 infantry regiment worked smoothly and fully provided the division command with the management of the 981 infantry regiment. For excellent combat training and bravery shown in battles, T. Rakov was awarded the Order of the Red Star by the government.

Biography after the war:

Graduated from the Railway Institute (MIIT) and the All-Union Correspondence Electrotechnical Institute of Communications (VSEIS), worked on the Kuibyshev Railway in the communication distance, studied at the graduate school of the Tomsk Institute of Technical and Technical Sciences. In 1959, he defended his thesis for the degree of Candidate of Technical Sciences, since 1961 - Associate professor, head of the Department of the Kuibyshev Electrotechnical Institute of Communications (now PSUTI).
