About 700 thousand people were drafted from the republic into the active army. Almost 350 thousand of them died defending the freedom and independence of our Motherland. More than 100 thousand natives of Tatarstan were awarded orders and medals for their heroism and dedication. Of these, 186 were awarded the highest distinction – the Gold Star of the Hero of the Soviet Union. 46 people became full holders of the Order of Glory. More than 70 factories were evacuated to Tatarstan. Which were released in 1941 1945: Moscow Aviation - more than 10 thousand PE-2 dive bombers, Leningrad Aviation - 11 thousand PO-2 light bombers, Voronezh aviation - about 18 thousand M-105 (VK-105) engines of all modifications, for LaGG-3, Yak-1, Yak-3, Yak-7, Pe-2. Together with enterprises and organizations, 266 thousand people were evacuated to the republic.
