On the morning of October 21, after a powerful artillery barrage, the enemy group went on the offensive.

Throughout the end of October, the troops of the 18th Army fought intense battles, as a result of which the German command’s plan to break through to Tuapse was buried.

The enemy was forced to go on the defensive.

After November 7, when the German elite Jaeger units “Edelweiss” from General Lanz’s group reached the crest of the Semashko heights, height. 795.8, Mount Turkey and they had less than 20 kilometers left to Tuapse, our battles with the Nazis became especially fierce.

By December 17, as a result of decisive actions of the 353rd, 383rd, 83rd and 165th Infantry Brigades, the Semashkhov group of fascists was liquidated, and its remnants were thrown back across the Pshish River, thereby eliminating the threat of a breakthrough of Nazi troops to Tuapse.

In May 2008, by Decree of the President of the Russian Federation, the city of Tuapse was awarded the honorary title of the Russian Federation "City of Military Glory"
