The work of the station is dedicated to the pilots of the 229th fighter-Aviation Division. During the Great Patriotic War, 30 pilots of the division were awarded the highest award "Hero of the Soviet Union". On the basis of the 229th Taman Division, a Division of the Strategic Missile Forces was formed, which to this day reliably protects the borders of our Homeland.

HEROES OF THE SOVIET UNION OF THE 229th TAMAN DIVISION

1. Guard captain, Pavel Konstantinovich Babaylov, he had 427 combat missions, about 80 air battles, 27 personal and 6 group victories.

By the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of February 23, 1945, Captain Babaylov Pavel Konstantinovich was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union for the exemplary performance of combat tasks of the command at the front of the struggle against the Nazi invaders and for the courage and heroism of the guard.

2. Guard Captain Pyotr Mikhailovich Batyrev made 330 sorties, 18 of them for assault and 212 for reconnaissance. Participated in 52 air battles, personally shot down 5 enemy aircraft and 1 in a group.

By the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of February 23, 1945, Captain Pyotr Mikhailovich Batyrev was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union for the exemplary performance of combat missions of the command at the front of the fight against the German invaders and the courage and heroism of the guard.

By May 1945, Commander of the 159th Guards Fighter Novorossiysk Red Banner Order of Suvorov Aviation Regiment (229th Fighter Taman Red Banner Aviation Division, 4th Air Army, 2nd Belorussian Front)

Guard Lieutenant Colonel V. I. Maksimenkov performed 516 sorties, conducted more than 60 air battles, in which he personally shot down 7 enemy aircraft and 9 as part of a group.

By the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of November 23, 1942, he was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star Medal.
