The call sign RP77J is dedicated to the memory of the Yugra soldiers, who died on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War (WWII). During the war, 17890 army conscripts went to the front from the territory of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug - Yugra, including 176 women and 412 representatives of indigenous peoples, 9587 fighters did not come back from the battlefields.
As the members of the Siberian military units and formations, the northerners showed fortitude and courage in the defense of Moscow, Leningrad and the Arctic. Our fellow-countrymen distinguished themselves in the Battle of Stalingrad, the battle of Kursk, and during the liberation of Poland and Czechoslovakia, as well as in the Battle of Berlin. More than 5 thousand soldiers from Yugra were awarded orders and medals, and 12 of them were the Hero of the Soviet Union.
