|The Karelian Front was the longest of all the fronts of the Great Patriotic War. It operated on the most difficult in terms of natural and climatic conditions of the northern theater from 1.9.1941 to 11/15/1944. Having restrained in 1941 the onslaught of the Finnish army and the German army "Norway" who sought to capture the Kola Peninsula and Soviet Karelia, the front stabilized until June 1944, ensuring the safety of Murmansk and the Obozersk railway. After the Petrozavodsk-Svir and Petsamo-Kirkenes operations, the front, which had solved the strategic tasks assigned to it, was disbanded.|
