Alexey Ivanovich Sokolov (1918-1943) - Soviet tankman, Hero of the Soviet Union (1944, posthumously).
Since December 17, 1943, during the great Patriotic war, together with Sergeant V. S. Chernyshenko, they held the defense for 13 days in a T-34 tank that got stuck in a swamp near the village of Demeshkovo in the Nevelsky district of the Pskov region.
